Don Imus is back in the saddle again

A contrite Don Imus returned to the radio airwaves this morning, eight months after he was fired for describing a group of college basketball players as "nappy-headed hos."
"I will never say anything in my lifetime that will make any of these young women at Rutgers regret or feel foolish that they accepted my apology and forgave me," he said, according to the Associated Press. "And no one else will say anything else on my program that will make anyone think that I didn't deserve a second chance."FishbowlDC, a media blog that has detailed coverage of today's broadcast, says the shock jock told listeners: "Every time that I got pissed off about that I reminded myself that if I hadn't said what I said then I wouldn't be having this discussion."
He complained about the frequent guests who turned on him in April and displayed some of the crotchetiness that won over millions of listeners and viewers during his long run on CBS Radio and MSNBC. "Not much has changed. Dick Cheney is still a war criminal, Hillary Clinton is still Satan and I'm back on the radio!" Imus said this morning.
